Volkswagen Up! now available for order

You no longer have to wait to order yourself the brand new Volkswagen Up!, it's available now, ahead of its release in 2012.

With three doors and space for four the Up! also offers three trim levels - Take Up!, Move Up! and High Up!. It will be available with two 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine delivering up to 74bhp and the BlueMotion technology version.

The Take Up! model includes a less powerful 1.0 litre engine, body-coloured bumpers and daytime running lights as well as 14-inch steel wheels. Prices for the Take Up model start from £7,995.

Next in line is the Move Up! which has a more extensive equipment line-up than the entry-level version, adding remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows, easy-entry seats and a height-adjustable driver's seat.

The Move Up! also has body coloured door handles and mirrors on its exterior, hence its £8,970 pricetag.

BlueMotion technology is also available for the Move Up! and comes with a stop/start system to help reduce fuel consumption in the city by cutting the engine whilst idling. This BlueMotion Upgrade costs £360.

Finally, the top-of-the-range model, the High Up! adds a range of features that set it apart as the range-topping trim level in the line-Up. As well as heated front seats, leather inserts and electric door mirrors, the High Up! also comes with Volkswagen's Maps & More infotainment system which is normally seen on larger, more expensive models.

This model is also the only model that offers a more powerful engine delivering 75PS.

From the outside, the High Up! is also noticeably different to the lower trims thanks to a pair of front fog lights and 15-inch alloy wheels. Prices for the High Up! start from £10,390.

Two special edition versions of the German manufacturer's city car will also be available and are based on the High Up! specification: Up! Black and Up! White.

These special editions will add more paint options (including a metallic finish), chrome door mirror caps and door side strips to the standard High Up!, along with 16-inch alloy wheels with body-coloured centre sections.

Volkswagen has also made eight option packs available for the entire Up! range: Sensor; Driver's assistance; Comfort; Winter; Chrome ;Sports; Sound and Leather-look.

Prices for the option packs range from £100 to a high of £650 for the Leather-look package. Details of finance, maintenance and insurance packages designed especially for the Up! will be released nearer the car's UK launch.
