Sebastian Vettel gets special edition Infiniti FX
Sebastian Vettel took delivery of his newest company car on the eve of his twenty-sixth birthday, the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition. The F1 World Champion helped to develop the limited edition performance SUV and had it delivered to his home in Switzerland.
Discussin the development of the car and his personal involvement, Vettel stated: 'I'm proud to now own the Infiniti that I helped design. It has great performance, responsive handling and fits my daily life perfectly. The FX Vettel Edition is great fun to drive and I like that it is totally unique, I am sure many other Infiniti owners will feel the same'.
Vettel's involvement in the development reflects his Formula One driving. Infiniti has entered the 2013 Formula One season as Title Partner and Vehicle Performance Partner of Infiniti Red Bull Racing.
The partnership started in 2011 and saw the launch of the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition, which has also had input from test driver Sebastien Buemi.
The World Champion received 001 of 150 of the Infiniti FX Vettel Edition model will be made. Currently the most powerful model in the Infiniti fleet, it debuted at last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed - Vettel even drove it up the famous hill.
Vettel has had increasing input in the development of Infiniti's road cars and is now Infiniti's Director of Performance, a role he undertook in April 2013.
Being the Director of Performance has meant that Vettel has been involved in multiple developments and comparative test drives. He takes part in engineering briefings with Infiniti teams worldwide.
For the Infiniti Q50 premium sports saloon, for instance, it meant that braking performance and direct driving input was put into the steering.
The Infiniti FX Vettel Edition will be on sale across Western Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
