Porsche unveils 911 GT3 RS limited edition

Summary

Porsche has launched a special edition 911 GT3 RS with more power than ever before.

The stunning coupe has been given the same drivetrain as the GT3 RSR racing car in the form of a 500bhp 4.0-litre engine which is capable of 460Nm of torque.

It is the biggest engine to sit inside a Porsche road car and with a six-speed manual transmission can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and 124mph in less than 12 seconds.

Just 600 examples of the model will be released in July and it will cost £128,466 at launch.

As well as getting a potent engine for your money, there is also an impressive array of driver aids and systems on board.

Chassis settings have been completely revised to cope with its new found power including a Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), an electronic damper adjustment system and new ball joints on the rear axle.

Weight reduction has also featured high on the design agenda and carbon fibre litters the GT3’s bodywork which allows for a road weight of 1,360kg.

The theme is continued inside with lightweight bucket seats installed and covered in Alcantara leather while the racing image is emphasised by ‘RS 4.0’ livery, carbon fibre inserts and seat belt harnesses throughout.

On the outside the limited edition Porsche will be available in Carrara White as standard and its appearance will again hint at the performance potential of the model with a low stance, wide profile and a central twin tailpipe unit.
