Peugeot 308 delivers top fuel economy
Fuel efficiency of up to 90mpg is possible on road-going cars, says Peugeot, following its Eco Cup marathon between Paris and Geneva.
The winning drivers returned an incredible 90mpg from the Peugeot 308 HDi FAP 110 and over 85mpg from the seven-seat Peugeot 5008 MPV in real-world driving conditions.
Peugeot says that the figures show what is capable with a light right foot in mixed driving conditions from a standard diesel engine.
Meanwhile, Peugeot launched its Hybrid4 technology in the 5 by Peugeot concept - a likely forerunner of a new large family car from Peugeot - at Geneva.
The Hybrid4 technology is likely to be used in the new 3008 crossover, delivering estimated fuel economy of 74.3mpg combined and carbon dioxide2 emissions of 99g/km.
