Our Top 5 Video Game Cars

Books can completely devour the reader in an awe-inspiring world; movies can throw the viewer into the middle of the action, and show them an amazing vision of different universes. Video games, however, have that wonderful ability to transport the player to another dimension entirely.

It's only games that can thrust you into the eyes of somebody else; video games allow you to live vicariously through a digital avatar, that's one of the many reasons we love them so much at Oneswoop.com - they're a welcome distraction in an otherwise stressful world.

Car video games are a particular vice of ours (if you haven't already guessed)! There's just something about blazing around the streets of a city, any city (or a racetrack), without a care in the world. Not having to worry about real world car problems; like leasing deals or PCP payments. Not having to stress over all of the new cars for sale etc.

We've manage to untangle all of our wires, got out all of our favourite consoles, and we're going to look through our collection. So without further ado, and in no particular order, here's our top five video game cars:

G-6155 Interceptor - Spy Hunter

Not everyone will appreciate the Interceptor from 'Spy Hunter', but it has definitely earned its spot on the list. With a veritable arsenal of gadgets and weapons, this sleek, silver car was the plaything of wide-eyed children in arcades everywhere. The top-down game-play was iconic and addictive, but most of all - it made you feel awesome.

Buick Skylark - Driver

'Driver' was one of the first open-world video games to be released; it catered to our primal needs to drive really fast around a living city, long before the 3D GTA's. What car did you often find yourself driving throughout this entry in the 'Driver' series? The Buick Skylark of course, and what a car it was.

Ferrari Testarossa - Outrun

Outrun was one of the most innovative and adored arcade games in the history of arcade games. Driving your very own Ferrari was an amazing experience, one that anybody could enjoy; despite how pixellated the graphics may have been. One thing that made this a particularly amazing experience for boys everywhere was the blonde 'bombshell' sitting in the passenger seat!

Warthog - Halo: Combat Evolved

Worry not fan boys, we're not getting into an argument over which console is better, we love them all. There is no denying, however, how fun a game the original 'Halo' was. Driving around in a Warthog with a few of your friends was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences of all time; solid driving, if not a little flimsy around the corners.

Sweet Tooth - Twisted Metal

Throughout each and every iteration of 'Twisted Metal', Sweet Tooth and Needle Kane have been prominent characters, eventually becoming the mascots for the series that they are today. This demonic ice cream truck is a series staple now, loved thoroughly by fans around the world for its insane design and even more insane driver. There is no way we weren't including this bad boy on the list.

So, that's it folks - we've reached the end of our list and we thoroughly hope you've enjoyed it. Don't worry too much if you're favourite wasn't included on the list, we very often write a second part to our most popular articles, so if enough of you like this you may well see another.
