Land Rover voted best 4x4 cars in the UK
Summary
Land Rover is the most popular 4x4 maker in the UK after it received five times more votes than its rivals in an online poll this week.
MSN Cars asked 40,000 UK drivers to name their favourite off-roader and 54 per cent of people agreed Land Rover makes the best 4x4 type cars.
The final figure was significantly higher than its nearest rival Toyota, which received nine per cent of the vote, and third-place Audi on eight per cent.
Other luxury SUV manufacturers such as BMW, Jeep, Mercedes and Lexus scored less than six per cent each, putting them a long way behind Land Rover in the eyes of UK motorists.
Land Rover is a traditionally British brand and despite being owned by Indian company Tata Motors, it boasts two British factories building the entire range of 4x4 SUVs in the UK.
This includes rugged off-roaders such as the Land Rover Defender van and the Freelander 2, which is the best-selling Land Rover in the UK, alongside its luxury SUV sub-brand, Range Rover.
"We are thrilled that MSN users have voted Land Rover their favourite 4x4 brand," says Colin Green, managing director of Land Rover UK. "We know that Land Rover has some of the best brand loyalty figures in the industry and this poll is testament to that."
The Land Rover range starts from £20,185 for entry-level Defender models, rising to £36,785 for the entry-level Discovery 4.
The Range Rover line-up starts from £27,955 for the new Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover comes in at £69,485 for entry-level models.
