BMW receives main award at Green Fleet ceremony
Summary
BMW has received the “Fleet Car Manufacturer of the Year" prize at the Green Fleet awards.
The award comes off the back of further improvements in CO2 emissions, an expansion in BMW’s range of low emission vehicles and its alternative fuel offerings to fleet customers.
This was symbolised, says BMW, by the new 5series and the 320d EfficientDynamics vehicles.
The new BMW 5series has lower CO2 emissions than its predecessor at 129 g/km. Available in either saloon, touring or Gran Turismo bodystyles, pricing for the BMW starts at £28,000 for the saloon, through to £55,000 for the high-end Gran Turismo.
The BMW 320d is somewhat more impressive in its role as BMWs most efficient car ever. CO2 emissions sit at just 109 g/km while its combined fuel consumption is 68.9 mpg.
The EfficientDynamics 320d is priced at £27,245.
“BMW’s achievements in small, medium and in particular the upper fleet vehicle sector convinced us that the firm is once again a worthy winner" said Angela Pisanu, Editor of Green Fleet.
The award is the second in a week for the German marque, following the less coveted award of being named the manufacturer with Britain’s angriest drivers.
