Audi triumphs at awards ceremony

Audi claimed two awards at the Auto Express new car awards, held earlier this week at Woburn Safari Park.
The two triumphant cars are polar opposites in the award stakes with the A1 adding yet another title to its bulging collection while the A6 Saloon grabbed its first ever award on Tuesday.
The A1 has been a staple of most car awards ceremonies in the last 12 months with the compact hatchback winning all manner of awards from category wins to overall accolades.
This time around the German manufacturer will have to be pleased with a category win after the A1 was crowned the best premium supermini by Auto Express judges, staving off strong competition from the likes of the Citroen DS3 and the Lexus CT 200h.
A lot of the praise poured on the A1 stems from its low entry-price which starts at around £13,000 – putting it on a par with the leading superminis but adding more equipment, low emissions and higher-quality interiors.
Audi will perhaps be more pleased with the title given to the A6 Saloon which managed to top the hotly contested best executive car category.
The new A6 managed to beat the often celebrated BMW 7 Series and the Jaguar XF to claim the prize with judges praising the design and interior of a car which is priced from £30,145.
